Excursions & Incursions

Are you an educator and interested in having an excursion for your school or pre-school programme?

Excursions and incursions provide additional opportunities for learning and exploration in natural environments, especially for school-going children. Both excursions and incursions with Hundred Paths are child-led and follow the Forest School approach.

We’d be happy to take your questions and discuss a customised programme to recommend some outdoor locations. Our excursions allow children to explore new environments, encounter different ecosystems, and engage in a broader range of outdoor experiences.

What Is An Excursion?

Excursions in a Forest School program involve taking the children, along with their educators and possibly parents or caregivers, on trips to different outdoor locations. These trips are usually planned and organised in advance and may involve visits to various natural settings such as forests, beaches, or nature reserves.

We highly recommend that schools make reservations for Forest School excursions at least two months in advance to secure a preferred slot with us, as our calendar tends to fill up quickly.

What Is An Incursion?

Incursions bring elements of the natural environment into your school setting. Instead of venturing out to new locations, incursions involve inviting experts, ie Forest School practitioners or specialised equipment into your school site. Before an incursion takes place, our Forest School coaches will need to visit and assess the proposed site to determine if it is a suitable and safe environment for a Forest School experience.

We highly recommend that schools make reservations for Forest School incursions at least two months in advance to secure a preferred slot with us, as our calendar tends to fill up quickly.
